NOTE: KNX Remote Access feature has been moved to "Smart Homes" section in the 1Home Dashboard.

1Home KNX Remote Access removes the need for port forwarding or externally accessible IPs, without making any changes to your network router and eliminates ISP and IPv6 related issues. With KNX Remote Access your installer can configure your Smart Home even when you’re not at home without the need to come over to your house.

It enables your smart home integrator to remotely program KNX via ETS.

Setting up the 1Home Remote Access is a three-step process.

  1. Set-up the 1Home Box/Bridge device

  2. Configure your gateway, so your Smart home will be set up properly

  3. Configure KNX Remote Access in the 1Home Dashboard and enable it

If you already have a 1Home device set-up and configured, you can proceed straight to step 3 - enabling KNX Remote Access.

Step 1: Instructions for setting-up 1Home Box or Bridge

Please follow the Instructions for 1HomeBox or 1Home Bridge with instructions on assembling and configuring the device.

During our second step, we will take a look at the 1Home Dashboard and how you can configure your Smart home correctly depending on which Smart home you own.

Step 2: Configuring your Smart home/Gateway correctly

Please follow the following guide to setup your KNX smart home gateway.

If you already have your smart home configured, you can skip straight to step 3.

Step 3: Configure and enable KNX Remote Access in the 1Home Dashboard

Now we will set-up the KNX Remote Access functionality in the 1Home Web-interface. This way you can access your customers KNX installation remotely using ETS.

Please follow these steps:

1. Login or register at https://my.1home.io

2. Click the "Smart homes" tab

3. Select your Smart home and click on the three doted button

4. Select KNX Remote Access

5. You are now presented with the KNX Remote Access configuration screen. It should look something like this:

Turn on the enable toggle. Select the desired duration you wish the connection to be established for. Note: after this duration the KNX remote access tunnel will be automatically turned off. You will need to manually turn on the tunnel again, repeating step 5.

The KNX Remote Access tunnel will accept only connections from the allowed IP address section. You may select the "Add your IP: ..." button. This will use your current IP address you are connecting from.

Click on "save".

6. After clicking safe, a secure tunnel will be established with the 1Home device and connection details will be displayed. Do not close this window, since you will need it in the next step.

7. Open ETS and add a new IP interface with the details from step 6.

Server: <TODO: 9EB43E.r1.1ho.me

Port: 30001

Connect using NAT mode: check YES

8. Click on "test" to verify that the connection can be established to the device. ETS should report "Ok". You can now program your customer's KNX devices remotely. The secure KNX Remote Access tunnel will automatically turn off at the time you specified in step 5.

If you wish to extend a KNX Remote Access session, you will need to repeat steps 2-5.

If you wish to manually shutdown your KNX Remote Access session, repeat steps 2-4 and in the KNX Remote Access configuration screen disable the secure tunnel connection and save your settings.
